Space-time - the lower dimensions

According to physicists we live in a universe of eleven dimensions. However, we only experience the lower four: the three dimensions of space which are inextricably linked to the fourth, time. We are familiar with three dimensional space where it takes a minimum of three co-ordinates to locate or describe the size of an object: breadth, width and height say. Space is what allows us to experience the state of separation between us and the rest of the universe we live in. There are various ways of specifying spatial co-ordinates, within a box grid or in circular co-ordinates (a radius located by two angles). What ever co-ordinate system we use there has to be one essential reference point, the origin of the system.

There seems to be an opion prevailing that somehow space (our universe) is unconnected to the objects it contains. According to Einstein objects bend space according to how heavy they are. The greater the mass, the greater the bending of space around it. Otherwise, it seems that many believe that space is analogous to a large, empty box that would be here whether there was matter inside it or not. I think that matter creates space. If there was no matter there would be no space. Back to connectivity
